EC Chairman Prince Kafui Dotse Declares Reuben Brother Dorkenoo as SRC President Elect 2020/2021-UEW

Reuben Brother Dorkenoo has been given the mandate to power following the release of official results by the SRC Electoral Commission. Tensions are under control in the normally peaceful University Community as his countenance accepts defeat.

The SRC electoral commission on (5th March 2021) declared Reuben Dorkenoo Brother the winner of the SRC presidential election.

Reuben Brother Dorkenoo beat his opponents with a total vote of 1,502 representing 19.75%. The candidate won massively at BBA Block with 399 votes and Simpa Block 2 with 722 votes which made his chances of winning clear. It is expected that his tuner of office will be the shortest term in the history of the SRC.

 Approximately 7,648 ballots were cast out of a total electorate of 27,578 and across 15 polling stations throughout the University Campuses. The total valid votes cast were 7,606 with total rejected votes of 42.

 Bright Xorvey Ahadzi came second with total votes of 1,310 representing 17.22%, whiles Charles Yokley came 3rd with a margin of 1,215 votes representing 15.97%.

 

The Chairman of the Electoral Commission of SRC Prince Dotse Prince praised election officials for operating the polls smoothly, and openly, despite the coronavirus pandemic.
