May the Lord have mercy on us,  students of University of Education,Winneba. One would have realised that whenever you are elected overwhelmingly by the students then it's a sign of trust and hope for good things to come, but this has not been the case since voted Sir Castro into office and what ensued at Local Assembly (L/A) meeting yesterday,  29th February, 2020 was sore to sighting and must never be repeated if really,  our leaders have the interest of all students at heart.

The L/A is supposed to be the highest decision making body on the students' front as grounded in Article 20(5) of the 2014/15 UEW-SRC Constitution.
Respectfully, the President, Emmanuel Oduro Fosu, tenure of office started well but if care is not taken would end up on a very bad note.

The Constitutional Instrument (C. I.)  that was brought by the outgone leadership that acted on the interim did not deprive you from picking a nomination form because no fee was charged but due to your autocratic dubious and odious dealings crowned with a personal aggrandizements, you have finally decided to manipulate the EC and subsequently decided without recourse to the poor student who has issues of students at heart and so has decided to lead them so as to salvage something good for the ordinary student and have his or her name captured into the anals of the blue books of UEW-SRC/JCRC the golden opportunity.

Charging the students for picking a nomination form is not only going to breed corruption but is going to deny deserving potential aspirants the opportunity to serve the good interest of UEW students.

The Electoral Commission has budgeted for GH¢48,000.00 to be used in organizing this year's SRC elections, why charge extra fee from potential aspirants?
My heart was in pain when the EC Chairperson gave unfriendly frivolous and unfounded reasons to support this hippocratic decision proposed to him by his paymaster, Emmanuel Ofosu Oduro (Sir Castro).

This has made the student populate knowing the incompetent of the EC, that's why you were constantly and persistently defending the EC. There was a caucus that was manipulating UEW-SRC but by the grace of God,  we were able to break into last year and got you elected without taking a penny from you. Why do you also want to create a mess for the SRC even when your tenure of office is coming to an end soon.

The big question is what better reasons would warrant your decision to sell the nomination forms?
For the good of UEW-SRC,  kindly reconsider your decision and slash out II(f) on the C. I.  presented to L/A members. [Section 35.0 of page 91 of the Students' Handbook would be of assistance.]

THE SRC LEADERSHIP IS APOLITICAL AND MUST BE GROUNDED ON STUDENTS' WELFARE ALONE AND NOTHING MORE.

One could confidently say without any shared of doubt that the C. I passed unilaterally by the SRC President [majority of L/A members did not support it] is a cause to worry and cannot guarantee the fairness we all anticipate in this year's election.
