Be Proud of The University You Have -SAMUEL ABOAGYE.

Time and time again, we are either motivated by the environment or by self intuition to upgrade our lives to make it better than it used to be. For this reason, students proceed to the university after obtaining the required grades. What is worth remembering is the joy and excitement that comes with the receiving of your admission letter.

However, the right conferred on a person to become a 'citizen' of a particular university comes along with its own responsibilities. The challenge with this generation is that we are mostly concerned about what we are receiving than what we ought to give. There is a responsibility to make the University better than we met it. There is also the responsibility to make our colleague students more enlightened. Whenever we think of what the university ought to give us, let us also ask ourselves what we are giving out as individuals.

Truth be told, it is far from wisdom to be a player and not learn to understand the rules of the game. In the same train of thoughts, it is far from wisdom to be a student and not interested in the welfare of the ordinary student. To make the University better is to make the lives of students better. It is by then that good signals can be sent outside to uplift the image of the University.

It is yet another time for a healthy political battle. If there's anything to put across as a student leader, then you are first a student like everyone else before the leadership position. Therefore, the basis of your desire to lead should be to serve as you see to the welfare of the ordinary student and also to make students proud of the University they have.

Have you ever thought of this? Students form a major component of the University, thus,  to say the University is worthless is a dent on the integrity of students. What we need as students is to be empowered, to learn to accept ourselves, and to believe that we are up to the task.

Together, let's uplift the image of the University we find ourselves.

It is possible!
