Among some of the dignitaries who were present to honour the occasion are:

The Chairman of the governing council, University of Education, Winneba: Prof. Dr. Obeng Mireku
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba Rev. Father Professor Anthony Afful Broni

Omanhene of Simpa Nerneyi Ghartey VII and his entourage.
Also were the distinguished management, the hardworking teaching and non-teaching staff of UEW.

The chairman for the Occasion was Prof. Dr. Obeng Mireku a distinguished professor of law.

Following the Chairman's shortest ever response, the Vice Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba, expressed his profound gratitude to His Royal Majesty and the various dignitaries for honouring such a great occasion, and also to the staff and students of UEW for their immense representation.

The Vice Chancellor in his welcome address stated that, apart from UEW being the fastest ever growing Teacher Education in Ghana, UEW is also the most populated university in Ghana with many developmental projects ongoing.

Preceding the introduction of the guest speaker was a magnificent musical interlude from the Department of Music Education/Theatre Arts.

Recounting to the guest speaker his eminence Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin has been a strong advocate for education for the youth and the development of children. The King does not live to serve only the people of of Akyem Abuakwa but has also demonstrated his passion for the progress of our dear nation.

Delivering his speech at the historic event,  His Royal Majesty remarked "machines do not teach people but people do", therefore, children need quality teachers to learn from. Ghana strives to develop scholars who shall stand to promote sustainable development, A development that meets the needs of our people without compromising the future of our needs.

"Life is best understood backward but life is best explained forward" he said. Therefore Ghana, in 2019 should  not be seen as Ghana back in 1957 because there must be a substantial development in our economy, education and infrastructure.

One of the greatest challenges of Ghana is that, it is difficult for our politicians to centralize our education system. Singapore concentrates on quality education and infrastructure but not same in Ghana. As a result, teachers move from the rural areas to the cities for greener pasture, leaving the village schools in miserable states.

As a nation, we need to invest into science and technology massively. When one is told to learn science and technology, then he must be given the tools to learn. We need a comprehensive science development in Ghana in order to catch up with the fast growing economies around the globe. This can help bridge the gab between job opportunities and the labour force.

Humans differ from all other species he said. Thus the ability of the mind to think. As citizens, we need to change our attitudes because a good character is what can move this nation to the next higher level of development we must think positively. While other countries are having inter- generational equity, borrowing money to invest for economic independence, we rather borrow money to pay salaries and debts. Nevertheless, the borrower is always a slave to the lender.

There is the need for our country, in order to promote economic growth and rural development, there should be a reasonable decentralization of ministries in all the sixteen (16) regions in Ghana rather than all the major activities centred in the nation's capital (Accra), thus, we should think of one region, one ministry he said.

His Majesty advised that we must prepare adequately towards everything we aim at without barriers. There is a google research indicating that about 80% searches on the internet are related to sports, entertainment and sex. There is a limited academic researches on the internet and therefore His Majesty Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin admonished students to study hard towards their academic performance and future development.

In conclusion he said that "hard work is a necessity for great achievement however, whenever you fail to attain your goals, don't give up, rather keep on".

To honour His Royal Majesty, the governing council of UEW presented a citation to His Royal Majesty Osagyefuo Amoatia Ofori Panin which marked the end of the occasion.
