Report On The Construction Of A Commercial Center and Food Court At The University Of Education, Winneba (UEW)

University of Education, Winneba will soon see major improvement in infrastructural been it socail, economic, political and cultural development under the leadership of the current Vice Chancellor Very Rev. Fr. Prof. Anthony Afful Broni PhD and his administration.

The governing council of the University of Education, Winneba in their promises is building an ultramodern Commercial Center and food court  for the university community which is to serve students at large and outside the campus as well. But for the food court it has been completed already and the construction of ultramodern commercial center is still ongoing in addition to other massive infrastructural developments and yet to highlighted.

The Food Court located behind the Faculty of Educational Studies

The food court is a building  which has different number of restaurants and  purposely built  for selling of food for human consumption and other edible materials. Sometimes some of the student of this noble institution find it difficult to get, identify or choose the food(Scale of Preference) they want due to lack or few categories or types of food at the place and also where to sit and enjoy the food become very difficult. Due to its several categories of food it served, it will easily facilitate the needs  of the student. This modern food court
will also facilitate some lecturers after their long credit hours and workers within the University community.

As the Vice Chancellor and His workable administration cherished every student within and outside the campus, the management also preparing a place for those who can't buy from the food court as its says "All hands are not the same".

There are three (3) major food court on campus thus: one is situated at South Campus (behind South Assembly hall), two (2) at North Campus one situated behind Faculty of Educational Studies (FES) and behind home economic department.

The Commercial Center located behind Jophus Anamuah Conference Center

The commercial center is intended, planned and designed for commercial development providing  for use by for-profit businesses, such as office complexes,  shopping malls, service stations and restaurants. Also for  the sale of general merchandise, convenience goods or services.

Commercial activity within includes the buying and selling of goods and services in retail businesses, wholesale buying and selling, a wide variety of uses that are broadly classified as "business." The facility will serve as  employment opportunities, facilitate the to and flow of money, and often serve many other important roles to the community, such as public gathering and events.

The commercial centre situated at north campus behind Jophus Anamoah Conference center. The facility which started a year ago is under construction and hopefully to be completed early next semester.
