Office of the women's commissioner University of Education, Winneba (UEW) in collaboration with Lead Youth Empowerment Network (LeYEN) on the 12th of February,2020 embarked on an educational tour and donated items to three (3) selected schools in the Effutu Municipality in the Central Region under the theme "Give a little, empower the next generation".
During the tour, the commission under the leadership of Miss Hawa Alidu and her hardworking team who are; Emmanuel Fianko, Asante Yekye (Nay Willz), kobby xuccess, Nana Yaa Hope, Mark Yaw Addo, Ayamba Abigail, Vera Yeboah, Efya Seedorfina, Bismark Attobrah ( Bizzay ), Edward Kwakye ( Eddy kae), Akpene Elizabeth, Mary Yawa Aforla, Vorsah Celestina, Amuzu Elizabeth and Linda Agyei Boateng.
Our first visit to Nyamebekyere Primary School, Mr.Emmanuel Fianko talked about being confidence and also advised the students to never fear in any positive decision they take, Mr. Mark Yaw Addo also motivated the students that they should focus on the future and should not allow anything pull them back in their education.
At the second school called BUDUATTA D/A Basic school in Gomoa Dominase, Miss Nana Yaa Hope encouraged the students to know their purpose in life and to know why they are in School. Mr. Mark Addo again added that, they should be focused on becoming great men and women in future. Miss. Amuzu Elizabeth educated the students on Teenage pregnancy, the effect on their life and education she advise that they should abstain from premarital sex.
The team then visit Marcus Garvey Preparatory school at Gomoa Esiwukwaa, the kids were motivated by the team to keep going to school and also take their studies seriously.
The Commission also donated some educational items like Pens, Pencils, Exercise books and other items to the various schools they visited.
